This video shows an autonomous 'insect' robot that operates with a neurologically-based control system.  Microcontroller-based neurological control systems that apply the same movements employed by real crawling insects were found to result in faster response times than a conventional control system that uses a standard computer. The project in this video was developed by Roger Quinn and his group at Case Western Reserve University.
