In this video, Michio Kaku discusses 'virtual reality' and how it is impacting our lives more and more.
He starts the video with a demo of tele-immersion, a new technology that uses computer-generated 3-D images of environment and avatars to create a virtual interaction among real people that are not in the same room (and perhaps even thousands of miles away from each other). Tele-immersion aims to give the participants a 'sense' of each other's presence in the same environment while they interact with each other.
Kaku also discusses 'Second Life', the online virtual reality world. Kaku gives proof that living a second but virtual life on 'Second Life' actually affects one's real life directly.
